About

Art of Dough was born during a moment many families remember well: the pandemic, when the days felt long, the screens felt endless, and my three little boys were suddenly home all the time.

Like so many parents, I was searching for something—anything—that would keep their hands busy, spark creativity, and give us a little peace in the chaos. I wanted play that felt calm, intentional, and joyful… not loud, flashy, or overstimulating.

So I started making dough.

At first, it was just for us. I mixed, tested, tweaked, and re-mixed batches at our kitchen counter while my boys rolled, squished, built, and imagined. They were my very first product testers (and my toughest critics). What I noticed right away was how grounding sensory play could be—for them and for me. The room would quiet. Focus would return. Creativity would take over.

That’s when Art of Dough truly began.

Today, every Art of Dough kit, jar, and pouch is thoughtfully designed to encourage open-ended play—the kind that lets kids slow down, use their imagination, and create in their own way. Our products are intentionally not “too busy.” We focus on quality materials, soothing colors, and meaningful details that invite kids in rather than overwhelm them.
